OUR RESPONSE TO COVID-19
On Tuesday 17th March 2020 we received instruction from the Archbishops that “public worship will have to stop for a season” and that “our usual pattern of Sunday services and other mid-week gatherings must be put on hold”
This is unprecedented in the history of the CofE. It isn’t, of course the end of the church, or of our faith, or of the presence and reality of God’s kingdom in our lives, community and nation. But things are going to be different, for months rather than weeks.
In its long history, where the church has adapted to its context (without jettisoning its core message), then not only has it survived, but thrived, as an agent of transformation. We think this is one of those times. We pray that as a church family we’ll continue to ‘keep in step with the Holy Spirit’ (Galatians 5: 25) and continue to discover new ways of being and doing church and discover treasures in a dark place (Isaiah 45: 3).
Please see below what we have decided to do in the short term, noting that things are still fluid and may have to change at short notice.
*Please note that times and whether we are able to open our churches may change at short notice.
