Meet The Team
Our church is led by a team of people with a shared passion of serving God, his people and his purposes
Led by our Vicar Tim the team includes many volunteers who serve and support faithfully across many areas of the church community.
Meet some of our team below and please say hello when you visit us.

The Vicar – The Reverend Tim Sumpter
Tim served his curacy in Ockbrook and after a short time in Surrey, he returned in 2001 as our vicar. A former soldier, he has a passion for keeping fit. He is also a registered psychotherapist (MBACP), seeing clients both privately and through New Dawn Counselling Services, in Beeston, Notts, where he is an affiliate. He has also recently (Nov 2024) been elected as a Parish Councillor for Ockbrook Ward.

Associate Priest – The Reverend Val Billings
Having worshiped here with her family for many years, Val was surprised to discover God calling her to ordained ministry in the Church of England. She now enjoys serving people of this parish in a new way, having been asked by the Bishop’s staff to consider undertaking her first curacy here, and then stay on as associate priest.

Associate Priest – The Reverend Dr Jeffrey Fewkes
Following work with Mission to Seafarers in Japan, where he met his wife Noriko, Jeffrey was ordained in 1975 and has led a number of churches throughout the UK. Now retired, he was also a fundraising officer for Victim Support in Nottinghamshire

Nat enjoys watching the best football team in the world (DCFC), keeping fit and reading.
