Advent & Christmas 2021

Please see our Christmas Online Services news post update for 2 services being streamed for Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning 2021

With All Saints’, Ockbrook being closed for renovation all our services are currently taking place at St Stephen’s, Borrowash. This will remain the case throughout Advent & Christmas 2021, except for the traditional ‘9 Lessons and Carols’ (with community choir), which will be held in Borrowash Methodist Church.

Due to Covid-19 and the need to restrict numbers, the ‘9 Lessons and Carols’, and the ‘Christingle Carols Round the Tree’ are both ticketed events – see QR codes and links on the poster below.

We will continue to upload highlights from our weekly Sunday morning services on our Facebook Page & our YouTube Channel.

Sadly due to the rising number of COVID Cases we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the 9 Lessons & Carols Service and now also our Christmas Eve Christingle Carols Service. We recognise there will be much disappointment and simply ask for your understanding at this time.

At the moment we have decided to keep both the midnight mass on Christmas Eve. which begins at 11.15 pm in St Stephen’s, and the Christmas Day morning worship service there, beginning at 10 am. We are doing this recognising that there is likely to be significantly reduced congregational numbers this year.

Should there be any other changes either prior to, or just after Christmas, which impact our current service planning, we will inform everyone ASAP using our website, Facebook and any other means available to us.

We would like to invite you on An Advent Window Trail. Each day in December a different window in either Ockbrook or Borrowash will reveal a Christmas Carol or Song themed window.

A chocolate will be delivered to the first three children to post a photo on the Advent Trail Facebook Page each day with the new revealed window for the day.

Churches rely heavily on the generosity of their congregations and communities around them and we in Ockbrook & Borrowash are no exception and are always grateful for any donation whether it be a one-off amount or a more regular amount.

Whilst our buildings were closed, making regular donations was harder for some people. You can still donate via our offertory plates available during our services. You can also donate via Standing Order, Cheque or Regular Giving Envelopes (please contact us if this is something you would like to do) or we are now able to accept donations online as follows:
